Some commissions focus the artist’s role on the impact good environmental design can have on a sense of physical and spiritual wellbeing. This is especially beneficial when all weather sight of and access to adjacent green space is integrated into the full functioning of the built environment.

The award winning Homoeopathic Hospital in Glasgow continues to be an influential example of human scale healing environment where the architecture allows the garden a strong and constant presence from in both inside and outside the building.

The Newcastle Courtyards, although enclosed and more sculptural in design, will nevertheless when mature present a fertile walled garden atmosphere offering a green refuge at the heart of each building block.

The Glasgow Schools project encourages the use of the schools grounds in the curriculum by providing spaces and structures to support learning activities. A palette of rich earth colours for walls, floors and planting link internal and external spaces.
